Frequent Asked Questions | REFERENCES

bulletWhat is Sob'r-K? Sob'r-K is made from a patented type of activated carbon. Sob'r-K is the highest quality vegetable carbon made. Sob'r-K is completely manufactured and packaged in the U.S.A.

bulletHow long has Sob'r-K been on the market? Sob'r-K (formerly Alcosorb) was invented in 1986. We spent 10 years testing Sob'r-K. Sob'r-K went on the market June 1996.

bulletCan I get the same effects from another type of activated carbon? NO. The types of carbons are countless, our type with its specific particle and pore size is proven to be most effective for the adverse effects of alcohol. Sob'r-K is a super activated carbon. Most activated carbon that you can buy is in grandular form. Sob'r-K is the finest super activated carbon on the market.

bulletHow does Sob'r-K work? Somewhat like a water filter. You take two pills prior to drinking and then two pills after each two drinks. Sob'r-K is absorbed into your lower stomach and small intestines and as the alcohol works its way through your body, Sob'r-K acts as a filter taking out all the impurities. We found it is not the alcohol that causes all the adverse side effects but the impurities (congeners) found in the alcohol.

bulletHow will I feel the next day? You will feel great. As you sleep Sob'r-K will clean out your system of all those impurities that cause hangovers..

bulletWon't coffee do the same? NO, the caffeine in coffee is a stimulant and will only keep you from getting a good night sleep. As stated in May 2001, Herbs for Health, "Caffeine and alcohol may not actually cause ulcers, but they can definitely make matters worse. Alcohol, even in moderate amount, intensifies the risk of bleeding."

bulletWhat about an herbal remedy? I would ask to see a study for each herb and how it interacts with alcohol. For example there is an herbal remedy that uses ginseng. Ginseng will thin the blood. Since alcohol will thin the blood I would be careful of mixing alcohol with such a product. Also, make sure the remedy is made and package in the USA. Besides asking for their studies, ask to see their patent and the FDA documentation.

bulletCan't I just take aspirins or non-aspirin pain relievers? You should never mix acetominophen (commonly found in most pain relievers) and alcohol. The mixture of alcohol and acetominophen can greatly increase the damage to your liver. A recent study shows that mixing aspirins and alcohol can more than double the chances of stomach bleeding. "Given that the liver uses large amounts of glutathione to detoxify alcohol, one of themost dangerous things you can do is take acetaminophen for hangover." --Boosting the liver's detoxifying power, Dr. R Rountree

bulletWhat if I'm unhappy with Sob'r-K? Mail us the empty package and we will refund your money. NO other hangover cure will make that offer.

bulletWhy should I sell Sob'r-K? Besides making money, your customers will wake up the next day remembering what a great time they had at your establishment. We found that if customers take Sob'r-K when they go out on Friday Night, they are more willing to go out again on Saturday night.

bulletIs Sob'r-K FDA approved? NO, because it is NOT a drug. Sob'r-K is an all natural food supplement. We make no claims except for what is on our patent.

bulletWhat are the side effects of Sob'r-K? NONE, as stated in the book "Activated Charcoal in Medical Applications, Pg. 166, Charcoal is harmless."

bulletWill Sob'r-K reduce my blood alcohol level? Sob'r-K may reduce your blood alcohol level, but we make no claims except as a hangover cure.

bulletIf I take Sob'r-K will I still get the "high feeling" from drinking? You will still feel the high, but you will feel much more in control.

bulletWho has endorsed Sob'r-K? Dr. Schaefer, (featured in "Omni Mag."; seen on the "Today Show"; called the "Indiana Jones of Taverns"; and the world's leading expert on alcohol use), states, "Sob'r-K really works, its the only hangover pill that has my approval".
